2010-2011

Tianjin University

Chinese Language and Culture

This was perhaps one of my biggest achievements: learn to speak FLUENT Mandarin. I undertook this program because I love Chinese Language and culture. I learnt Chinese at the School of International Education as a Second Language as a full-time student.
The instruction was divided into elementary, intermediate, and advanced levels. All students were arranged according to the results of a Chinese placement test at the beginning of the semester. Class size was approximately fifteen students per class. Class hours were normally from Monday to Friday, 4 academic hours per day, 20 academic hours per week.
Upon completion of the program I received a certificate and an official transcript. The program is normally one semester long, but I applied for an extension of my study period to two semesters in order to attain a more in-depth understanding of the language.
